This working group is dedicated to exploring and advancing the growing intersection of design and futures. Specifically, it serves as a collaborative space where design researchers and practitioners can come together and explore the essence of response-able futures and designing – what it means and how it can be nurtured and put into action. It is committed to adopting a critical and reflective approach to the assumptions and practices that underlie dominant design and its impacts on the futures we shape. Moreover, it is devoted to seeking and inventing alternative, more relational, responsible, and accountable ways of understanding and doing design.
The creation of this working group is the result of a gathering of a diverse group of 30 early-career researchers who share a common interest in the intersection of design and futures.
