Florian is a professor of design research and design theory at the University of Art and Design Linz, Austria. In his work, he is dealing intensively with the transitions, intersections and friction points of design research and sustainability, regenerative cultures and participation, but also with the processes and methods around the practice of design and the research based on it. For him, the approach of “Sustainable Design by Default” is a central aspect both in practice and theory. He brings these perspectives into the teaching and research at the University of Art and Design Linz, but also into the strategic work in his agency KITE Design Research in Berlin.
