Pordenone Design Week (PDW)

Mission Statement

Pordenone Design Week has been founded on the purpose to create a great collaborative experience within the school and the companies, as well as the training system with the production system. Its fundamental objective are:

 – more innovation for companies;

– more employment for young graduate people;

– to give a contribution to the regeneration of the city of Pordenone;

National Role

Consorzio Universitario di Pordenone is a legal association founded by the Province, The Chamber of Commerce and the Town Hall in 1992.

It is a non-profit organization and has the specific role of coordinating courses, master’s degree programs and specialization courses, set up in Pordenone by the Universities of Trieste, Udine and Rome. Indeed, Consorzio Universitario has academic programs relating to “Industrial Design” with ISIA Roma Design; Economy; Multimedia and Technology Science with the University of Udine, a Master’s Program in Lean Manufacturing with the University of Trieste, and a specialization Course in Project and Lean Management, hosted by Consorzio itself. Its aim is offering to students and departments located in Pordenone the most advanced services and equipment for studying, teaching and research activities.  Consorzio Universitario has extensive expertise in management of University and Training Courses and maintains an excellent relationship with the Regional SMEs.  It has a long experience in ICT area, as it has the management of several university departments and all of them use a large number of devices and computer technologies.

Students’ satisfaction and the shortness in work-placement of our graduated students are the proof of the high quality of Consorzio Universitario, which supports in particular two degree-courses of excellence in engineering and multimedia branch.

Furthermore, it has a hand in planning and organizing advanced training courses.  It is aware of regional needs and its purpose is to provide relevant education to the population. 

The main office is located outside of Pordenone and the local office is in downtown Pordenone, and includes more than 1000 students.

Main Focus

In the event Pordenone Design Week the students work with several companies for one entire week during the month of March and Consorzio Universitario is in charge of the management of the event since 12 years, so it became a City Manger in the field of Design Education in this geographical area. The first aim of the association is the realization of an international department with the possibility to cooperate with foreign universities and institutions to give a considerable boost to the Pordenone Design Week.
