The Transformative Agency of Arts Education
On November 8, UArtes President William Herrera welcomed all virtual participants from around the world to Arts Imagining Communities to Come, the third Cumulus Conference that took place in LATAM. Provost Herrera’s speech emphasized the mission of his esteemed public university, located in Guayaquil, Ecuador. He reminded participants that the program of the conference is reflected in how much UArtes understands public higher education in arts as a platform for collective work and the transformative potential of art education with/from/within the communities.
The following four days were indeed a manifestation of this agenda. Congratulations to the full organizing team of Cumulus Guayaquil for such an inspiring conference!
