Mission Statement
The spirit of the West University of Timișoara is one of performance and excellence, as a gradual and permanent result of the effort to be better. UVT advocates for an education correlated with the immediate needs of the labor market, an education that aims, in addition to scientific performance and socio-economic employment, to reveal the human personality as a whole.
In addition to the role of a training institution for specialists in specific areas of competence, we also assume that of a vital institution for the western region of the country, which actively participates in the great regional and national socio-economic challenges, aware of its role in Romanian society. We propose that our activity closely reflects the importance given to the development of the community in which we operate, a space in which we imprint our cultural and social values acquired over time.

International Role
The International Relations Department mission is to support the activities of the West University of Timisoara (WUT), oriented towards the achievement of the strategic goal of internationalization of the University, as a renowned institution of higher education and research, at a Regional, National, European and Global level. The Department of International Relations at the West University of Timişoara provides institutional support and information for students, academic and administrative staff in terms of mobility and international cooperation.
The International Relations Department also provides institutional and informational support to international students and foreign teachers who wish to study and teach at UVT.
The International Relations Department objectives complies with the West University of Timişoara’s international cooperation policy:
– ensures the development and implementation of the West University of Timişoara’s Strategy of Internationalization as a multi- and inter- disciplinary institution of higher education;
– ensures the development and management of a Portfolio of Strategic International Partners, which will become collaborators in International Cooperation Projects in higher education;
– ensures the implementation of international mobility programs for students, academic and administrative staff within the European Union, European Economic Area and EU third member countries, as well as increasing the number of beneficiaries of these programs;
– increasing the number of international students studying in WUT (mobility or a full course of study);
– ensures the development of West University of Timişoara’s faculties regarding the international services provided: foreign language study programs, double degree programs, engaging international lecturers, organizing admission for foreign students, organizing international events, the development and implementation of Cooperation Projects with International Partners.
a. The main task of the ERASMUS + – Office is to develop and implement mobility programs and international cooperation projects under the auspices of the WFTU under the umbrella of Erasmus + and the EEA Financial Mechanism, as well as to manage the portfolio of bilateral agreements specific to these programs.
b. Bureau of International Cooperation and Foreign Students – its main task is to organize admission for foreign citizens (citizens of the European Union and the European Economic Area, citizens of EU third countries, including Romanian ethnics) at the West University of Timisoara, attracting foreign students at UVT for a complete cycle of studies, administration of the portfolio of bilateral agreements for cooperation and support of international approaches of the faculty level (development of double degree program, development of study program in foreign languages, support of foreign lectureships, etc.).
