Mission Statement
The University recognizes that its fundamental commitment is the disciplinary and valoric training of integral and competent professionals, in an academic atmosphere of order, reflection, rigor and respect for differences. Likewise, it assumes, as one of its greatest challenges: the promotion of social integration, the mobility, and the material and spiritual progress of all the members of its university community.

International Role

Research Activity and Main Areas
The development of research at the San Sebastián University has responded to the analysis of external elements and the needs of the careers, and they have been oriented towards professional knowledge of teaching and the development of areas such as historiography, molecular biomedicine, clinical research and innovation and entrepreneurship among others. Institutional efforts have opted for the creation of naturally supportive units for research productivity such as Departments, Centers and Institutes within their Faculties, as well as the creation of mechanisms of personal and collective incentives for publications and projects that have made it possible to integrate an interdisciplinary and internationalized view in the development of research.
