What an incredible week it was at the Cumulus Talent Camp!
Design for Complex Societies Pordenone, Italy July 15-20, 2024
Organized by Consorzio Universitario di Pordenone, ISIA di Pordenone, Associazione Culturale Pordenone Design, and Cumulus Association, the event was supported by Confindustria Alto Adriatico, Camera di Commercio di Pordenone-Udine, and with the contribution of Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia, Municipality ofPordenone, and Fondazione Friuli.
Throughout the camp, students from around the world came together to explore the intersection of design, creativity, and sustainability. We kicked off the event with inspiring keynote sessions, followed by hands-on workshops where participants delved into innovative design practices. From brainstorming sessions to prototyping, the energy and passion in the room were palpable.
Workshops: Our participants took part in a variety of engaging workshops, each focusing on different aspects of design and sustainability. Highlights included: Food Sustainability, Sustainable Product Design, Nomadic Furniture Design.
Cultural Experiences: We also took time to immerse ourselves in the rich cultural heritage of the region with a memorable visit to the Basilica of Aquileia and the stunning Grado Lagoon. These experiences added a special touch to the camp, reminding us of the importance of preserving history and nature as we shape the future through design.
Company Visits: Our participants had the unique opportunity to visit local companies in the Pordenone area, gaining insights into real-world applications of design in various industries. The interactions were invaluable, sparking new ideas and collaborations.
Networking: Beyond the scheduled activities, students connected with like-minded peers and professionals, forging relationships that will undoubtedly continue long after the camp ends. The sense of community and shared vision was truly inspiring.
As we wrap up this enriching experience, we look forward to seeing how these talented individuals will bring their newfound knowledge and creativity into the world. The future of design looks bright!
