Call for Participation: “Ethical Leadership: A New Frontier for Design” – Cumulus
Spring Conference 2025 in Nantes
L’École de Design Nantes Atlantique and the Cumulus Association are pleased to announce the call for contributions for the bi-annual Cumulus Conference 2025!
We invite researchers, professors, professionals, and creatives from the Cumulus network and beyond to submit their research work. For this Conference, taking place from June 3 to 7, 2025 in Nantes (France), the theme is “Ethical Leadership: A New Frontier for Design,” which will explore how designers can lead ethically responsible innovations across social, ecological, cultural, and digital domains.
This theme is divided into six tracks:
● Digital Ethics: From UX to Ecosystems, Immersive Interactions to Tangible Experiences, AI Ubiquity to AI Acceptability
● Food Ethics: Food Transition and Environmental Challenges
● Care and Public Innovative Action Issues: Managing New Ethics of Public Design
● City and Territorial Development Issues: Social Inequalities and Territorial Development
● Informational Issues: Information and Interaction Design & Trust in Information
● Design Entrepreneurship: From Designers to Leaders – Cultivating Ethical Leadership through Design-Driven Entrepreneurship

To ensure the quality of the conference, each submitted contribution will undergo a double-blind review process conducted by reviewers selected by the track chairs, including researchers, professors, and industry professionals. Additionally, a scientific committee will validate the final selection of papers to ensure their quality and relevance.
We accept various formats of submissions:
● Academic Papers: For fully completed research.
● Working Papers: For research in progress, open to master’s students, doctoral candidates, practitioners, and educators.
● X-Formats: For submissions of creative works accompanied by a detailed description and scientific commentary.
● Posters: For presenting completed research visually.
All submissions must be made through the dedicated Ex Ordo submission platform, and authors are strongly encouraged to present their research work in person during the conference.
Selection of contributions will be based solely on the evaluation of submitted abstracts. Full papers will be required before the opening of the conference. Proceedings are to be published at a later date.

● Abstracts evaluation and recommendation: October 19 – November 15, 2024
● Full Papers Submissions: November 18, 2024 – February 3, 2025
● Full papers evaluation: February 3 – March 24, 2025
● Registration opens: Early January 2025 for early bird rates
● Session preparation: March 28 – May 9, 2025
● Conference Dates: June 3–7, 2025
