Mission Statement

Established in 1914, the Estonian Academy of Arts is the only public university in Estonia providing higher education in fine arts, design, architecture, media, visual studies, art culture, and conservation. The EAA is striving to be among the leading international centres of innovation in the field of visual culture.

  • 1 May for autumn semester and academic year
  • 15 October for spring semester

Teaching Languages

All staff members have good command of English and groups are relatively small (5-15 students). There are five MA programmes in English: Design and Engineering MA (joint programme with Tallinn Technical University), Animation MA, Urban Studies MA, Interaction Design and Design and Crafts. The official language of instruction for other study programmes is Estonian, however, foreign students are guided individually in English.
