Mission Statement
DIDI will provide a world-class design education in an international learning environment to advance knowledge, research and innovation opportunities for the next generation of designers.
International Role
The Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation has collaborated with two of the world’s leading universities for design innovation, teaching and research: Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Parsons School of Design. Our ambitious University curriculum places students at the forefront of innovative design education, allowing students to map their own degree paths.
In addition, we also aim at contributing to global discussions on the future of design education, and as such we are definitely open for collaboration with other universities (be it teaching or research).
National Role
DIDI will be the design university of choice in the UAE that contributes to the advancement of humanity by making everyday living better.
Being the first integrated design degree in the region, DIDI is in many ways spearheading design education in the GCC region. We collaborate locally with medical universities and business schools, as well as with the local Service Design Network chapter. Since most of our courses are project-based, we also actively collaborate with companies and public sector organizations.
Main Focus
Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation (DIDI) has been established to address the growing need for talented designers and innovators in the UAE and beyond – today’s students who will be tomorrow’s innovators. Global in outlook, bold in our approach, the University instills students with the confidence to take risks, push boundaries, and challenge ways of thinking and making.
All of this converges through our Bachelor of Design (BDes). The first integrated BDes of its kind in the region, students map their own educational journey by exploring two concentrations from a possible four: Product Design, Multimedia Design, Fashion Design, and Strategic Design Management.
