Research Activity and Main Areas

The Designmatters Department is ArtCenter’s educational platform for design for social innovation.  Designmatters is a DESIS Lab and oversees a variety of research initiatives. More information at http://designmattersatartcenter.org and http://www.desis-network.org/content/desis-labs

 

The Humanities and Sciences Department at the college (HDS) encourages a culture of research discourse and partners on a regular basis with members of its faculty to organize research symposia and events open to the full college’s community.

 

The Media Design Practices Department focuses on interdisciplinary design in a world of cultural and technological change; the department hosts international researchers in-residence who tackle a wide range of topics every summer semester.  More information at http://mediadesignpractices.net/#mdp
