Cumulus Athens 2026 Conference: Roots | Routes in Design
University of West Attica, Athens, Greece – May 5–9, 2026
The Cumulus Association and the University of West Attica warmly invite you to participate as a reviewer for the upcoming Cumulus Athens 2026 international conference, titled “Roots | Routes in Design.”
This conference brings together academics, researchers, educators, practitioners, and creatives from around the world to exchange knowledge and practices. The theme explores the interplay between our past and our future as a foundation for forging innovative design pathways. Roots implies a movement towards the origins, while Routes stands for a path forward; rather than opposing tendencies, they are framed as complementary dimensions shaping a holistic design discourse.
The conference is structured around three main tracks and ten sub-tracks:
Knowledge Systems

Fragments of Time: Revisiting the Photographic Archive (KS2)
Aesthetics (KS3)
Designing Knowledge Ecologies (KS4)

Sustainable-Regenerative Enhanced Design: Principles and Practices from the Past to the Future (R2)
