Design at the End of the Earth: Cumulus Dunedin 2026 conference calling for Submissions!
Humans and our systems are responsible for many troubling relationship with the earth. The themes of this conference propose that hope is to be found within design practices and in approaches towards design education. We encourage conversations that de-centre Western culture from its position of authority, to learn from and listen to voices from the edges, and from the more-than-human.
Here in the south of Aotearoa New Zealand we believe we can offer a place far to foster these productive conversations and are seeking your perspectives and experiences in the following research tracks:
Track 1: Design with and for Nature
Track 2: Design for postcolonial contexts
Track 3: Design for sustainability – local and global challenges
Call for Submissions
Cumulus Dunedin 2026 promises a dynamic mix of presentations and experiences. The themes of this conference propose that hope is to be found within design practices and in approaches towards design education. We encourage conversations that de-centre Western culture from its position of authority, to learn from and listen to voices from the edges, and from the more-than-human.
We invite researchers, academics, professionals, and creatives from the Cumulus network and beyond to submit abstracts that align with the conference tracks and submission formats.
