We seek a candidate whose research bridges theory and practice in sustainable design futures, demonstrating expertise in material systems, fashion and product design, or circular economies. The ideal candidate’s portfolio will include experimental or speculative design projects engaging with questions of sustainability, technology, and culture.

Successful candidates will teach across undergraduate and graduate programs in design and fashion, supervise student projects, engage in scholarly research, and contribute to curriculum development in the areas of design futures, material culture, and sustainability.

The position is a full-time, tenure-track appointment. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. We encourage applications from underrepresented groups and individuals with diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

  • A doctoral degree in a relevant design or related field, or an advanced stage in obtaining the doctorate.
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience relevant to the position’s focus.
  • Research and scholarly publications in relevant disciplines.
  • Proven teaching experience at the university level, including course development and student mentorship.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Spanish is desirable but not required.
