EDIDesK – Year 1 Report and Year 2 Outlook
EDIDesK ‘Open Access Contents on Design for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion for Higher Education Programmes’ (Erasmus+ KA220-HED) is a three-year project aimed at enhancing European Higher Education Design programs by integrating Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) principles. The project focuses on equipping future graduates with the skills to design inclusive and diverse solutions through the development of open access, multilingual educational content and inclusive digital tools.
The project involves seven partners: UNICH – “Gabriele d’Annunzio” University of Chieti-Pescara, Italy (Project Leader, Italy), ASP- Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Katowice (Poland), STU – Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (Slovakia), ELISAVA – Barcelona School of Design and Engineering (Spain), UNIFI – University of Florence (Italy), EIDD – Design for All Europe (Austria), and Cumulus Association (Finland).
Year 1 Achievements:
WP2: Completed research on current EDI teaching practices in Design programs, and mapping methodologies in Italy, Poland, Slovakia, and Spain (WP leader: ASP).
WP3: Launched the development of a EU Framework for ‘Design for EDI,’ creating a structure for integrating EDI into design curricula (WP leader: STU).
WP5: Established communication channels, launched the project website, and engaged stakeholders through lectures and events, including a session at the International Congress on Educational Quality in Poland (WP leader: UNIFI) .
Year 2 Outlook:
WP4: Development of an open-access digital learning platform for multilingual EDI content, set to launch in mid-2025, to support inclusive higher education (WP leader: ELISAVA).
