Mission Statement
One of the main goals of our institute is to create a seamless integration of art and design that meets human needs. In our two majors, Design and Trans-disciplinary Arts, we develop research theories and application modules that are closely interwoven. Our focus is on finding a balance between the creative process and abstract structures, which is essential for nurturing both artists and designers. We foster a collaborative learning environment and encourage strong connections between students and faculty, promoting mutual growth. Our diverse student body, coming from various disciplines, leads to a wide array of innovative designs and enriches each student's journey in the search for life's meaning.
International Role
As globalization continues to shape the world, international collaboration has become essential for our institute, a prominent graduate school of design in Taiwan. In recent years, we have invited several professors and designers from various countries to deliver lectures and conduct workshops at our institute. Additionally, we have organized joint design workshops with institutions such as the Academy of Media Arts Cologne, Tama Art University, and Future University of Japan. Our goal is to share our experiences regarding the significant role that design and art have played in Taiwan’s rapid development.
National Role
Our institute is recognized as the leading graduate school of design in Taiwan and has consistently set the benchmark for design education in the country. We have partnered with other design schools in Taiwan to organize exhibitions, workshops, and conferences collaboratively. Additionally, we have established collaborations with several local industries, particularly in the computer and communication sectors, including companies like Acer, BenQ, and Lite-On.
