Mission Statement

Barreira Arte+Diseño is the only private College of Art in the Autonomous Community of Valencia that offers official degrees in Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design and 3D Animation. Furthermore, the Valencian Government has awarded us with its Extraordinary Awards in 2014.

Barreira A + D was established by Vicente Barreira in 1957 with a clear goal: to provide the best education in the arts and design, emphasizing the highest quality and professionalism.

We reside in a matchless location at the heart of the city – what used to be a brush factory has been fully renovated and adapted so at to boost creativity and nurture our students and staff. Our 3000 m2 campus has the ideal facilities to accomplish our education project: fully equipped IT classrooms with specific hardware and software, ateliers, conference hall, library, and much more.

Barreira Arte+Diseño is an Apple Authorised Training Centre and as such we have integrated the latest Apple technology into our courses, which, thus guaranteeing the quality of our lessons and the additional benefit of providing certification.

Above all, we have an excellent team of teachers, that as active and experienced professionals can encourage their students through their working knowledge of the latest trends and help them network within their fields. This enables us to regularly schedule masterclasses and workshops to inspire and broaden the minds of our students – giving them insight into their profession and providing new avenues in which to learn and work.

International Role

The arts have proved to be of vital value for our society, at the core of progress and innovation. In order to foster this, it is necessary to partner with other like-minded universities, schools, institutions and professionals.

In pursuit of this we are part of the Erasmus + programme and are always looking to broaden and expand our horizons. Through our International Affairs Office we promote, organize and manage activities with the objective of enriching our teachers and students on the myriad of traditions and cultures that can only benefit our work.

We have already had engagements and projects within members of the European Union like Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Portugal, France, Lithuania, Poland, Turkey… and many more.

National Role

Our philosophy is to keep improving always our education by integrating our students into the design sector, that is the reason why we try to bring closer these companies to our students, therefore they can have a global approach to the labour market, and they can gain a realistic vision of the companies.

We collaborate with local companies, local government and cultural institutions, such as:

• Generalitat Valenciana + iseacv
• Escuela Internacional de Protocolo
• Gremi artesá de Sastres i modistes

We also collaborate with international companies such as IKEA, Leroy Merlin, Porcelanosa, Airbnb, Google among others.
