Mission Statement
ESAM Design’s mission statement:
Equip our students with the right tools in a stimulating environment to become innovative and creative professional designers with an internationally recognized diploma.
International Role
International exchanges and the interaction of practices in diverse artistic domains are the essence of a lively creativity. From its very beginning, ESAM Design has developed links with other countries by welcoming many students from a wide variety of cultural horizons, organized study fieldtrips abroad, and participated in international workshops and competitions.
ESAM Design Paris has an active policy of partnership with schools in more than 10 countries all over the world and is a member of the Erasmus exchange program: Escola Superior de Artes e Design, Matosinhos (Portugal), University for Creative Arts, Kent (UK), Nanjing University of Arts (China)…
National Role
From their prime location in central Paris, ESAM Design students take part and have won prizes in a wide variety of national and international events and competitions:
● MiniMaousse
● Jardin Jardin
● Designer’s Day
● Cosentino Design Challenge
● International Garden Festival in Chaumont
● TransFormations, 100 graduate projects in the creation industries
Students also collaborate on design projects with local organizations:
● BPI Beaubourg
● L’Archipel – restructuration of a place for economical solidarity
The school works closely with businesses and recently responded to the request for proposal on an interior designer project from a well-known hotel group.
Students in their 4th and 5th years can choose to have a work-study contract combining the theoretical training at school with on-the-job training in a company. This opportunity of sandwich training links school and students to the professional world.
The Masters Degree jury is composed of members of the French Council of Interior Architects (CFAI), professionals in their specialist fields and tutors from national and international partner universities.
Main Focus
ESAM Design’s focus is to train students to become creative professionals in Interior design and Design.
All the courses at ESAM Design Paris are taught by practicing professionals (architects, designers, interior designers).

Bachelor Level Programs
On completion of the third year, successful students achieve the following qualifications in their specialist field
• Interior Design diploma
Master Level Programs
At the Masters level, successful students will gain a MA Degree recognized by the French government (RNCP, level 1), which can be obtained after 5 years of study (post high school graduation):
• MA Design/Interior Design (this degree is also recognized by the CFAI French Council of Interior Architects Conseil Français des Architectes d’Intérieur http://www.cfai.fr/ )
