The School of Innovation & Technology at The Glasgow School of Art seeks an enthusiastic and highly motivated academic to contribute to the expansion of our postgraduate portfolio on the GSA’s Highlands and Islands campus. Based at the historic Altyre Steading, just outside of Forres, near to Inverness, the role will enhance the Innovation School’s commitment to
1) our expanding Masters portfolio in Design Innovation
2) new academic study options at all curricular levels
3) a people and planet approach to design-led innovation
4) aligning teaching with research to produce social, economic and cultural impact
The successful candidate will provide help students to explore the relationship between social and historical change, technological advance and cultural identity available to citizens and communities, organisations and governments. The ideal applicant will have a background in Design/Innovation education or a track record of academic/professional engagement and/or contemporary design practice; and a commitment to seeing design-led innovation as a contribution to cultural well-being, social justice and ecological improvement.
