Full Membership

Full members participate in the governance of the association via the annual General Assembly (GA) and benefit from unique leadership opportunities and voting rights along with the full offering of Cumulus resources.

Criteria

To qualify for full membership, institutions must satisfy the following:
  • Be a university, college, or academy with degree-granting programs in art and/or design
  • Demonstrate evidence of curricular and co-curricular initiatives, research and/or exchanges that have an international aim and foster an environment of collaboration and mutual learning
  • Engage in Cumulus activities and conferences

Fees

Full members must pay an annual membership fee, which is recommended by the Executive Board and endorsed by all members during the annual General Assembly.

Any changes in annual fees are announced a full year before they are instituted. Cumulus membership automatically renews annually, unless the member institution notifies the Cumulus Secretariat in writing of its desire to leave the association.

Member Application Process

Cumulus membership inquiries and applications may be submitted on a rolling basis. The application is processed for review as part of one annual intake in January.**

New members are accepted upon the Executive Board endorsement and that of the annual Cumulus General Assembly which takes place in May/June of each calendar year.

2021 full member fees: 1.200€

Application Steps

The steps articulated below are required to complete your membership process. Please note that you must contact the Cumulus Secretariat who will guide you through the online system to submit your application!

Request a membership application form by emailing our Secretariat at [email protected]. This form is digital and must be submitted online.

The form includes a set of comprehensive questions pertaining to your institutional mission, the nature of your educational offerings, data about your international exchange programs, and an overview of your operational and financial information.

Fill out the endorsement letter digitally. The letter must be submitted with original signature(s) on your official institutional stationary in PDF form as part of your application.

Obtain at least 2 recommendation letters from current Cumulus full members in 2 different countries to support your application (only one letter may come from your country).

The letters should follow this template and be signed and and submitted in PDF form on institutional stationary.

The letter of endorsement and the 2 letters of recommendation must be submitted to [email protected].

Important Dates 2022

January 28, 2022

Application deadline.

February 28, 2022

New applicants reviewed at next Executive Board meeting.

March 28, 2022

All applicants notified of the Executive Board’s recommendation for membership.

June 28, 2022

Applicants positively reviewed are invited to the Cumulus General Assembly where their membership is ratified and they join the association.
