Mission Statement
- To provide education for the development of reasoning ability as well as artistic creativity, crafts and designs.
- To conduct interdisciplinary research that leads to the discovery of new inventions of arts, crafts and designs based on the cultural wisdom
- To conduct community service to create an independent society.
International Role
At international level, the Faculty of Fine Arts and Designs of Universitas Sebelas Maret has established colaboration with partner universities such as University Sains Malaysia (USM), University Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), Braunschweig University of Art (HBK Braunschweig) Germany, Chiba University, Kyusu University, Poh Chang Academy of Arts Thailand, and Silpakorn University Thailand to develop academic activities such as: visiting professor, student exchange, staff exchange, conference, joint research, exhibition, and joint degree.
National Role
At National level, the Faculty of Fine Arts and Designs of Universitas Sebelas Maret is the only Fine Arts and Designs Faculty in public university in Indonesia. Three of the its departments receive A level accreditation at national level in Indonesia.
Being Located in Surakarta, the center of Javanese Tradition and Culture, the Faculty of Fine Arts and Designs, contributes to development of Arts and Designs based on Javanese traditional culture to be preserved and promoted as the national identity.

We are open to student exchange in all of our departments including Visual Communication Designs, Interrior Designs, Fine Arts, and Textile Crafts.
We also run special international programs on traditional and contemporary Batik, Javanese Architectural Designs, and Ceramic Crafts.

The application deadline for International program (short course) in each academic year is on July 15.

Short course Fee is 7.000.000 IDR or approximately 450 Euro and
Living cost per month is 5.000.000 IDR or approximately 350 Euro.
