Mission Statement

To nurture enterprising and employable graduates who will become cultural influencers and leaders, and to be central to the development of the arts and design in Singapore, inspiring innovation in practice and research. To understand local cultures as well as global trends in design. To connect design with non-design disciplines and thus to extend the scope and social impact of design practice.

International Role

The Faculty for Design at LASALLE College for the Arts advocates interdisciplinary collaboration and in line with this pursues research and practice-based activities in the context of design thinking. LASALLE entertains collaborative relations with Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts, London, Musashino Art University, Tokyo, Shih Chien University, Taipei, Köln International School of Design, Cologne. It is in the process of preparing collaborative relations with Vilnius Academy of Arts and with Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.

National Role

LASALLE College for the Arts one of Singapore’s most prominent design institutions. We have been recognised for the quality of teaching and learning through the award of the EduTrust Star by Council for Private Education. This was the first time that this recognition was awarded to a Singaporean institution. LASALLE also received the ‘Best Institution of the Year’ award at this year’s Crowbar awards, a local design competition. Industry engagement projects are common practice at LASALLE, and we regularly collaborate with the institutions mentioned above.

Diploma, BA and MA in Design related disciplines, focusing on theory, research, and practice with emphasis on industry collaborations.
