Mission Statement
To champion design-led research, pedagogy and innovation that nurtures designers to be proficient in addressing real-world problems and sustaining human development
International Role
Internationally we have active MoUs with Domus Academy, Istituto Marangoni, Teeside University and others in related areas through which we explore semester transfers, summer schools and student transfers for masters studies.
National Role
School of Design has held national student design awards as part of our annual Design Xpo intiated in 2022 to celebrate prototyping and building creative confidence. School of Design has been active in motivating students to provide nation-wide Anthropometric Data for appropriately informing new product development efforts for Indian diaspora and diversity. During COVID-19 times of shortages, School of Design students have made training videos showing how disposable masks can be made out of household materials. Students have made wrist bound sanitizer dispensers that are contactless. Students have also involved themselves in making portable oxygen concentrators collaborating with other students from engineering, science etc. Our students have been selected for several national (Facebook School of Innovation toppers) and international recognition (Harvard Social Challenge, Stanford Longevity Challenge).
Main Focus
Our main focus in design education is to humanize technology at scale for sustaining welfare of humanity and the planet.
