The theme explores the interplay between our past and our future as a foundation for forging innovative design pathways. Roots implies a movement towards the origins, while Routes stands for a path forward; rather than opposing tendencies, they are framed as complementary dimensions shaping a holistic design discourse.<\/p>\n<p>The conference is structured around three main tracks and ten sub-tracks:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge Systems<br \/>\nDesign Methods in an AI-Mediated Era: Histories and Futures (KS1)<br \/>\nFragments of Time: Revisiting the Photographic Archive (KS2)<br \/>\nAesthetics (KS3)<br \/>\nDesigning Knowledge Ecologies (KS4)<br \/>\nResiliency<br \/>\nSocial Design: Designing for a Changing World (R1)<br \/>\nSustainable-Regenerative Enhanced Design: Principles and Practices from the Past to the Future (R2)<br \/>\nSustainable Pathways (R3)<br \/>\nDesign Practice<br \/>\nContemporary issues in Heritage Conservation (DP1)<br \/>\nGraphic Arts in the Age of Digital Intelligence and Heritage Preservation (DP2)<br \/>\nDesign Values in the Mediterranean (DP3)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For more details about the theme and the tracks, please visit: <a href=\"https:\/\/cumulusathens2026.uniwa.gr\">https:\/\/cumulusathens2026.uniwa.gr<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Reviewer Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Evaluate approximately 15 abstracts (400 words each) in pairs, based on established criteria.<br \/>\nLater, evaluate a smaller number of full papers, recommending acceptance, revision, or rejection.<br \/>\nContribute to ensuring the academic quality, diversity, and integrity of the conference.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Review Process<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reviews will be conducted as double-blind peer review with double reading in pairs, typically consisting of:<\/p>\n<p>A researcher\/professor (senior or junior researcher, doctoral candidate, course leader, etc.)<br \/>\nA design practitioner with professional expertise in the field<\/p>\n<p><strong>Timeline<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Abstracts evaluation: 30 October &#8211; 15 December 2025<br \/>\nFull papers evaluation: 15 February &#8211; 30 March 2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why Become a Reviewer?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Your contribution will help advance design research and practice globally while also offering the opportunity to connect with colleagues and international experts in the field.
