Promising third year students of L’École de design Nantes Atlantique will present their works with the exhibition : « Casual Fitness » during the Fuorisalone Milan Design Week, Ventura Lambrate, from April 17 to 22, 2012.
11 furniture projects for domestic sports and fitness
Our third year students in Product Design have chosen to work on the theme « casual fitness » this year, knowing an exciting challenge was at hand for them. They have been rethinking standard furnishing pieces, taking new approaches in their conception to elaborate entirely new concepts. The 11 projects they have conceived integrate great ways to exercise in classic pieces of furniture, with a touch of elegance and style. The act of exercising becomes « casual », a natural act integrated in everyday day life, just as the elements for stretching or exercising are merged in the furniture. Their projects will be on show for design professionals and amateurs at Ventura Lambrate, the trendy alternative area of the Fuorisalone, during the world-renowned Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan.
The students of l’École de Design Nantes Atlantique were guided in this project by Nicolas Prioux – Course Leader in Product Design – and his team, Jean Yves Guillet and Bertrand Letourneur, both designers at “Part de Rêves” agency (France). From November 2011 to March 2012, Nicolas Prioux has challenged his students to outdo themselves in creating outstanding quality objects for the largest event in furniture design worldwide.
