The Savannah College of Art and Design is redefining online learning for today's artists and designers. Learn how: eLearning at SCAD.

SCAD's eLearning program offers 18 programs of study, among them painting, photography and teaching art/drama, as well as four certificate programs geared toward specialized career preparation.

"I've definitely been impressed by the faculty. They're constantly communicating; they're totally invested in your improvement and growth as a student."
Candace Reilly, M.F.A. painting student, South Bend, Indiana

SCAD eLearning combines an award-winning reputation with respected degrees from SCAD, an accredited, nonprofit, private university. eLearning programs are fully integrated with on-location programs of study, offering students one-click access to university resources and support, one-on-one attention from distinguished and dedicated SCAD faculty members, and an open invitation to on- and off-campus programs and activities.

"The interaction was one of the best parts. A lot of that had to do with the fact that, because it's eLearning, we have students all over the country. So we all brought a unique perspective about our own projects."
Jim Carrington, M.A., historic preservation, 2011, Tulsa, Oklahoma

The largest among art and design universities, SCAD's extensive, professional faculty is empowered to do more for students than ever before. Teaching both on-ground and online courses, faculty members have gained national and international recognition as winners of Academy and Emmy Awards, best-selling authors, Fulbright scholars, U.S. patent holders, National Endowment for the Humanities fellowship recipients, LEED-accredited professionals and AIGA award winners. With an annual retention rate of 96 percent, SCAD professors are deeply committed to the students, mission and values of SCAD, and are passionate and engaging experts in their fields.

"My work seems to have a sense of authority and confidence to it since beginning eLearning at SCAD. You can really see that in illustration—whether someone's confident in the strokes they make or in the colors they choose."
Robert P. Hernandez, M.A., illustration design, 2010, Waterville, Maine
